Today the group polished the editing, so now the whole thing flows even better than before. Also, we have added a cross fade while Jo is walking, and it works very well. As of yet, we have not put the home-made music over the walking scenes, but it will be easily done as it's only comprised of 3 parts. Hopefully it will be completed soon, we all think it will be a good piece.

Today's Editing
This mornings editing went really well, we are all really pleased with the 'match on action' as we think it works really well. Marie-louise and i chose which clips fitted best in the sequence, and Marie-Louise edited each shot so that the sequence flowed. Whilst Tom and Michael made the music for the walking sequence before the converstation.
I have taken photo's of todays editing and music making to upload later onto the blog.
On wednesdays lesson we just need to compleate the editing and add the music and burn it to disk.

Editing
We have two lessons left for editing, if we don't finish it in those two lessons we're going to have to book up our free time to get it finished before the deadline. But we aim to get it finished and hopefully copyied to a disc, so then all we need to do is our individual PowerPoint's by January.
On Monday's lessons I'm going to bring in a digital camera to take photo's of our progress on the editing and then upload them to the blog.

Trouble editing
Today we had some trouble editing with the tapes, so editing has been pushed back till monday mornings lesson.

Yesterday we had to film Jo's walking scenes again, but added some variationto the match on action with some high and low angles. This was due to a good part of our footage disappearing from the camera. The Vice principal gave us permission to use the room we filmed the conversation in, and a lady from the copy room said she didn't mind being a background figure, maybe.

Today we finished filming. Marie-Louise sorted the room we needed out, by getting it unlocked and moving the tables so they were perfect for filming.
At first we had a few problems with the tape.. we couldn't find our footage from last lesson, luckily Dan the technician found it for us.
Tom and Michael did all the filming today, and Marie-Louise and i 'acted'.
As in the last post, i took photo's of all the props we used and edited them and uploaded them to the blog.
We've all booked the editing suit for wednesday 10th december.

Photo's of the props we've used

These are the props we've used throughout our sequence.
I've taken pictures edited the images so that they fitted better on the blog.
The first Image is the tea cup used in the final sequence which Marie-Louise uses in the shot reverse shot conversation. The Second image is the present we used as part of the dialogue/prop sequence. The third image is the bag we used in the beginning of the sequence to make it look ordinary and as an everyday object, also the fourth image is the mobile phone i use in the beginning of the sequence to make it a bit more interesting rather than just walking down the corridor with no props. The fifth image is the folder Marie-Louise uses in the final scene to make it look a bit more believeable.

Main idea's from the storyboard
In the first shot, we're going to have a long shot of a character walking towards the camera. The shot angle will be an eye level shot.
When the character enters the medium shot out into the next shot, a cut will be used to do this.
In the second shot there will be a close up of the first characters legs. The character will contiune walking down a corridoor, Just the characters legs will be within the frame. Also a dissolve will be used to show how far the characters walked and to slow time change. The length of this shot will be no longer than seven seconds, as the dissove should add the time change, although once we start filming this shot length may change.
In the third shot the same character will be walking along a different coradoor, and the shot will start as an ELS. The camera movment will pan across as the character walks until the character arrives at the door, this shot will be the 'match on action' shot. The characters body will hide the door handle but the auidence will be able to see the character reaching to open the door. Next will cut to the following shot.
In the fourth shot the 180 degree will be used aswell as the shot reverse shot, which includes all three continuity editing needed with this sequence. This shot will also include the dialogue as the two characters are talking. The dialogue used will be something like, "I've got your christmas present" - First character. And the second character who will be sitting in the room saying " Is this it??!" and then throws the present across the room and out of the shot. Next to end the sequence a fade will be added to the film. Hopefully this should add suspence of what happens next.
- changes may need to be made?
